Job Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the station manager directs all activities related to the ground operations at the station. The Station Manager is responsible for the management of staff and day-to-day operations of the terminal including ground and flight operations, deicing aircraft, passenger services, aircraft handling, and air cargo. This position is also responsible for overseeing processes ticketing, checking in baggage, making announcements, and performing other necessary services.

Primary Responsibilities

Station Operations

Provide consistent, superior customer service by ensuring that staff are trained in accordance with company programs and procedures.
Create awareness among staff of customer needs and develop and implement proactive and/or corrective procedures when situations arise.
Maintain a positive attitude towards customers and staff within a fast-paced work environment.
Provide oversight of staff and/or contracted companies with respect to fuel operations and manage operational ordering and balancing of fuel/propane for own station.
Communicate regularly with dispatch and commercial personnel to coordinate flights.
Responsible for managing day-to-day activities of the station in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP), legislation and regulations and company policies and procedures.
Act as the base safety officer and participate in regular meetings with the Manager, Safety and Quality Systems.
Act as a designated safety management system (SMS) investigator.
